A big thank you to the C5 community
First off this weekend was a bit bitter sweet. I ended up trading in my 2010 2SS but thats not what this story is about.
Last year (Jan 2013) my father passed away. I was only 24 at the time and my whole life i was expecting to have him by my side during everything as any child does. I was a bit broken both mentally and spiritually. Two months later i had a car pull out and hit me head on totally my current car. It was during this time i found C5 and everyone here. I spent hours and hours on this site just getting away from the harsh reality i was going through. I fully believe that it was this site and the excitement and love of the camaro that helped me pull through. Well insurance came through and i was given a good settlement for the wreck and purchased my 2010 2SS in march 2013. Between that car and this site i was able to get away when things got bad and i was able to graduate from Indiana University just three months later than expected and proceeded to get a job 2 months after that. While my family was the number one reason i got through his loss there is no doubt in any of our minds the car/c5 community that helped. WHile there are alot of bickering and fighting that sometimes takes place here i just hope that each and everyone can realize that this is a place that can touch and help and at the end isnt that what we all want While i am currently Camaro-less i will always check in here and see whats going on. there is always so much to learn. Thank you all!! |

Wow, I'm sure it's been tough for you. There is always something to look forward to. Remember that it takes two hills to make a valley.
I wish you the best in the future, and if you need anything, even if it's just someone to talk to, let us know. |

Sounds like you're doing well, even though the going has been tough.
If the blue C7 is your replacement for your SS, definitely 'thumbs up' !!! I love that color too. |

It is. I said last yr when i first saw them i said the c7 is the only car id trade for and things lined up perfectly. Two completly diff. machines, i at times even find myself missing the brute power the Camaro has. The C7 tho is scary fast but the camaro has just pure grunt.

Everything will turn out well. Enjoy what you have, car, career, and most of all family. Never know though you may wind up getting another Camaro in the future to go along with that beautiful C7.

Remember life has obstacles but you can get over them. You did it! Just remember you did this on your own. You were strong enough to look for help and able to express your self and communicate with others. Your a strong and positive guy I can tell by what you said. KEEP IT UP!! Your father would be proud of you.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your father.
C5 is a great distraction when life intervenes. I have used it this way as well. Congratulations on your education. Congratulations on the C7. I wish you the best of luck going forward!

Would suggest you are the man you are today because of the connection you had with your Dad. He will always be with you.
