I hate the front license plate law
I know there have been threads about front plates, and I am not trying to start a debate. But my temp tag was about to expire, so I got my new Ohio plates. I have been dreading how ugly the stupid plate would look on the front of my Camaro, especially with the ground effects , so I ordered a Jacfab no drill bracket ahead of time, so at least I have no holes.
But the plate is butt ugly! It just takes away from the beautiful styling. But I live in a rural area , where several of the small towns, including mine, each have their own Barney Fife, so to avoid the inevitable fines, I decided I had to comply. Just needed to vent. I do live 8 miles from the Pennsylvania line where no front plates are required, but is it worth selling my house and moving to PA so my cars look prettier? Hmmm sounds like something only I would do lol! |

LOL.. it may just be worth it .. I hear ya.. I forbid to do it.. not even the folding or no drill option.. I just got mine 5 years old NJ car.. no signs of any holes so I assume the previous owner never did either.. will sit in glove box for now unless the "no plate awards" start to cost more than a ugly bracket.. not a daily driver so that may help .. Love your color!

Start a petition drive in Ohio to go to just one plate. Do your research, and show how the State can save money only having one plate rather than two. Make comparisons to other states, showing reasons for one plate verses two. It is much easier to get a state to save money rather than spend it.

Ct is a 2 plate State but it is not generally enforced.
These Camaros look so good with no front license plate. |

Ct is a 2 plate state and I never ran a front plate. Even drive out of state and have never been hassled. Looks so good without the plate!

direction with a front plate. 9 times out of 10, it's broken up with a plateless car. I've taken several trips in my Camaro to So Florida, Indy, DC, Canada, etc, Never been bothered.

$25 fix it ticket?
beautiful front end? $25? front end? Some laws are just taxes, think of it that way. Window tint is illegal, loud aftermarket exhaust is illegal, missing front plate is illegal, showstopper sidemarkers are illegal, my cold air intake is illegal... I've been hassled once for a missing plate, I tied it on with a shoestring and took it back off once it was signed. It's not a big deal, just take it off. |

Loud exhaust is only illegal if the loud is excessive... and I never heard of a cold air intake as being illegal. Window tint is not illegal unless it goes beyond the allowable amount. I've always considered plates on a car as part of what makes a car a car.

West coast, everything is illegal ... In Florida it is against State law to have any exhaust other than OEM. Granted it is typically not enforced, but on the books and is a stoppable offense.
