this is a good looking car but has problems:

1. what is with the cars made today with that lower body molding that seems to be always black(and plastic) , its even that way on the new vette.
2. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds with 500 hp and 450 trq with a supercharger on it ???
my 05 gto has 425 hp and 405 trq and does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds without a superdupercharger!!
3.the new shelby is also right at 4000 lbs(can we say f150 please) dang! with that much body weight it probably will be hard to modify because most of the wieght is in the front for the engine block is cast iron( this is a good thing though, no worry of over heating problems as much as do i with my aluminum block 6.0.
all around this a pretty good idea for a muscle car but I would never pay 42000 dollars for a crustang (wait, its a ford ,sorry, I would not buy it anyways) . the actual price will vary because of tax , title, shipping cost ,blah blah blah.

some might say: EPA city driving: 13 mpg
EPA highway driving: 21 mpg
There is no way I would buy a car that gets this kind of gas milage (probably spelled wrong but it's friggin early for me 5:44am ok) .
Well this will settle this litte prob. right now . If you want a car that has 500 hp and also want to protect your wallet and the earth , MAKE ONE !!!
I am tired of this biatchin over gas crap and the earths demise crud, if you are this worried over the gas stop buying it and get a bicycle (also God gave you friigin legs ,and contrary to popular demand we use to walk to every where before the wheel and motor cart unless you had a horse) the earth will probably be offing us anyways ,because it is a planet. read up on other planets we don't live on and you will see the same kind of crud ,storms and all because it is a planet out of our control.

sorry ranting is funnnnnnn.

Peace be with u all . I am smiling now.(thorazine please)

Well, it wasn't the same, but it was identical in color. I have to hand it to Ford, this was one good lookin Mustang. still wouldn't buy one though....hehe

There are 2 Shelby's around here. Not bad, but for what the dealers are charging, I'll take a C6 ZO6, and it'll smoke the Shelby.

On a related note, a local dealer somehow got a 'Hertz' Shelby with around 11 mi. on the odometer. So, I had to see how they got it, and what they were asking.

Ready??!! $90K! That is just STUPID!

Would I drive it? Hell yeah. I'll be honest. But, I sure as hell wouldn't dish out $90K. That is just nuts. That's what pisses me off about Ford. "Let's build some bad @ss cars that are special editions. Let's call them GT500 and Shelby GT. When we put them up for sale, we won't produce hardly any at all and we'll charge such a high price that only a few people could afford them. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea!" WTF are these people thinking?!?!?!?!?! Make more, make'em less expensive so more people can own them, more people can get into your product line, and you will keep more customers for life. Freakin morons...90K my @ss.

I have to give it to Ford for their Commercials. GM better have something up their sleeves to top them. Here are some other good commercials from ford.

Love the Seve McQueen commercial. That was a good one. I don't know how many commercials GM will come out with seeing as though they are going to have a ton of publicity with the trasformers movie. They better have some good ones, though. Hopefully we see that war with Ford and Dodge.

Sorry to get off topic for a minute, but concerning the GT500: I went to Freedom Ford in Newport News, VA asking about the car in early 2006. They told me straight to my face that MSRP started at 42K, and that they would be marking it up to somewhere around 65K due to demand. What kind of work ethic is that? I hope the local Chevrolet dealerships are not like that.

I was actually going to mention something like this myself, but wasn't sure if it really fits since it's a Ford dealership.

I was out with a female friend the other day looking for a used truck for her. While at the dealership walking around with the dealer that came out to pester us, I commented that I myself was waiting for the Camaro. (He didn't really say much about it other than I heard something about $60,000 and I had to correct him that it should be in line with the Mustang's pricing.)

Anyway, he mentioned they had just sold a GT500 for $15,000 OVER MSRP.

I chuckled and told him I'd NEVER pay over MSRP for a vehicle. His response, of course, was that I will for that Camaro. I just told him I'd wait a while before getting one, because I refuse to pay over msrp. Conversation ended there pretty much. At least regarding the Camaro it did.

So don't use Lilliston Ford in Vineland, NJ if you don't want a markup on anything.
