How much lighter than Hellcat?

I wonder how much lighter the new Manual ZL1 will be than a Manual Challenger Hellcat?

Agreed. And for some reason amidst all the weight savings and actually seeing the much smaller profile in person compared to the last gen, that number still seems really heavy.

Got a ride/drive a friend's Hellcat Manual Challenger today. Nice car and nice tranny!

Two issues I noticed.
a) HEAVY! When you turn or going for a quick stop, you can feel the weight of the affecting the drive.
b) SKINNY Rear tires! It's hard to hook with those skinny tires. It gets annoying when you can't get much traction in first and second.

So, if Z is about 500 lb lighter (will help in corners) and wider tires, will help getting traction, then the Z should dominate that market, before GT500 shows up.

I believe the hellcat comes in at around 4400. I'm thinking the Z** will come in around 3950. So about 450lbs.

You are right, Hellboat weights at 4,449 lbs (curb weight). ZL1 on Alpha platform should be about 3900-4000 and if with an LT4... 650hp/650tq... Hellcat will be a lolboatcat since ZL1 will be able to not only turn, corner, comfortable on track and street with actual wide tires but also be fast. It'll be basically insane. Plus "ZL1"s won't have 30-40k ADM.

I do have to admit that hellcat does sound amazing and is fast as hell only on a straight way.

ZL1s will have ADMs when they first hit the lots. Most cars do.

We shouldn't be worried too much about the Hellcat. We should be thinking about the next gen GT500. The previous GT500 didn't do too bad on the track. Now, with bigger tires and IRS on the new platform, I wouldn't be surprised to see the new GT500 handle much better.

Yeah the next Z** will out handle and should out accelerate the hellcat. The next GT500 will be more of a challenge for sure. We shall see.

No. The Z** was not revealed at Detroit. The Buick concept was the focus. I'm guessing the date on the side of the test car was real so we will see it at New York in March.

I don't know you guys, the Z06 has trouble with the Hellcat roll racing and its 1000 lbs lighter than the hellcat. I hope the Zl1 comes in at 3875 lbs. The Z06 is 225 lbs heavier than base stingray @ 3525.
If the new gt500 is created it should be around 4100 lbs, the GT is 3800.
