Having driven a 6thgen 2SS I can say it makes our 5thgens feel old and bulky. Looks are subjective, I personally like the new interior but not exactly sold on the exterior. You can definitely feel the difference in the chassis and the 8 speed auto is amazing.
Gen5 SS vs. Gen6 SS there is absolutely no comparison on performance, quality and just overall feel, looks being subject obviously. I love my '14, it's done the way I want for now(may do a LSA add on if I keep it), I still think in a year I may go Gen5 ZL1 over a Gen6 SS unless my GM employee pricing really wows me.

You can be sure the future ZL1 will be in the mid 70's and the Z/28 high 80's. With the world as unstable as it is now, and being a financial adviser I say buy gold! most of you are to young to remember the late 80's when people were paying 18% on home loans, and 20% car loans. But I digress I own a lot of GM stock so BUY, BUY, BUY.

I just made that up. But it's plausible. There's always risk with product launch, but they've got pretty good at what will sell and what will have issues. People forget this is the "new" body style, and the market has been saturated with 5th gens for a LONG time. Only natural that they drop in value. Don't ever, ever, ever, bank on any new car being worth big dollars one day. Buy them to enjoy, however you wish, but cars are normally very bad investments. You may strike lightning, but doubtful. It's a long-run bet that may never pay off.

I had made a post about my decision. I had a 2014 SS and was considering the 162SS or an older ZL1. I took about 3 months to think about this, do research, and drive them both. I felt like the ZL1 was a lot more of what I was looking for. Its a the name plate, its the power, its the car that people stop and point at. With that being said the new car is very quick and fun to drive with a kazillion amenities that will probably be selling points to many of you. To me this was kinda like going with a 69 over a 70 something. Either way I can't wait to see what people do to these new cars and what comes out in a year or two. Peace.

Local dealership has a 2016 1LT/RS for 42K. Rather expensive for a V6. Car does look better in person but interior is smaller, shorter. I won't totally judge a 2016 until the SS arrives. But for now I'll keep my 2SS/RS.

the looks need to grow on me. So far the perfromance is decent for the price. not a ton of data out there in the handling arena yet that I have seen.
I still factor in looks when I buy a car and thats why it is not on my radar at all at this point. I would rather have a GT350 or hellcat over a 2016 SS hands down. so I see all these people praising the car but I am not shopping for one ha ha. may the 2017 Z?? will peak my interest.

This topic is weird to me because I fell IN LOVE with the 5th Gen when it first came out. All I could think about is how I wanted to mod it with a sc etc...then the ZL1 came out and I hit the floor!! Everything I wanted in the Camaro was right there, more muscular front, supercharged, more refined handling. I literally looked at the chevrolet website every day for months. I held off until last year because I wanted to see what changes would be made before I bought it. I have the car I have dreamt about for years, and there is nothing out there that gives me that same feeling. The 6 Gen has many great attributes, but none that give me the feeling my ZL1 does. Maybe if they do a 6 Gen ZL1 it will be a great car, but Im 6'3 240lbs, I doubt if I will love the way I feel sitting in like I do mine. I drive my ZL1 more than my 87 Grand National, more than my truck, and way more than my 750i. Personally, no car out there appeals to me, and gives me the feeling that my ZL1 does. Congrats to GM on building 2 great generations of Camaro.
