Is this a bad idea?

I've been asked to put my car in a parade. Obviously with the top down and a local girl sitting on the retracted top. Will this mess up the top? Is there a safe way to do it or is it just not worth the risk? The girl is a family friend so if I say no I have to have a good reason. Thanks,

Um, how fat is she...

Just kidding and seriously there was another thread on this, try and search for. There was concern about the glass window I believe, but also you are definitely going to want to have something thick, blankets and towels, in the seat because she or they will have their shoes up there.

Personally I'd say if you want to for the sake of showing off your car then great, but remember that no one is going to treat your car like you do, so you unfortunately are bound to have something happen, a small scratch or whatever.

The tops have enough problems without anyone sitting on it. I wouldn't let some one do that to mine

Can't she sit on the seat back and not the top?

You have the cover for it so stick something under the cover to beef it up in case some how you get a porker or some way it would hurt it though i doubt it would, the frames are not just flimsy.

Your owners manual specifically states not to sit on the folded top.

Thanks for all the feedback, i just found out that it'd be her (who is very thin) AND her date... so it's be two people up there. Think those that said it's a terrible idea are probably right. It's just not worth the risk.

I've done these parades before with my old firebird ('68) but, it always starts to run to hot (400 eng), so I've told everyone it's parade days are over. Guess now i'll let everyone know our new car isn't available either. thanks again everyone.
