In the GTR community, those of us who bought the Black Edition had the same problem. Some guys removed the seats and the covering and manually moved the bolsters out to accommodate. It was a PIA

I also noticed that the Recaros on the '17 ZL1 felt very thight and uncomfortable compared to my fifth gen ZL1 Recaros

My guess would be that you could remove the backrest leather and modify the foam portion. I actually did the opposite on my Vette. It had the non-adjustable seats that were just too wide and didn't hold me in place. So I took it apart and added additional seat foam to the side bolsters. Worked like a charm and you can't tell the difference visually.

I have a 2012 ZL1 with non-Recaros if any one wants to trade their Recaros for ZL1 seats with suede inserts and red thread trimming.

If your coat size is more than 44 and you don't have a V-back you'll probably have some issues fitting in these seats. Drop 20lbs or so and you'll fit just fine. |

These are some of the best factory seats I've sat in for a long time and I'm at 225. I would hate to be the person that has to design seats and somehow make them fit everyone.

Sorry for the bad angle.... but I was determined to get the new seat cover on last night and didn't take many pics.
That bolster is a welded piece of metal. Could be bent if needed. Not sure how the upholstery will look after though.

Awesome. It looks like you could bend them out 20 degrees or so ant not have an issue. The leather should stretch, esp with some heat.
I dont have a problem with the back but the left thigh - sciatica- on my 2ss. I'll be moving to a zl1.. is that problem worse or better on the zl1? It seems like it might actually be better since my leg wont be able to ride over the bottom left bolster anymore, itll be forced inside.
