Trade in
Well here's a kick in the teeth. My younger brother purchased a 2015 Z/28 in March. White, no a/c, no radio car. He has drove the car 1200 miles. We live in the northeast and I told him not to buy a no A/C car till I was blue in the face. We had a hot summer and he did not drive the car most of July and nothing in august. He would not say to me it was a mistake that would never happen. Last week he said to me if I would go with him to the dealer he got the car from he wanted to trade it in. He paid $76,000 new. The dealer who we both know for about 30yrs. said I will give you $60.000 on a trade. WOW he almost passed out. Tried another dealer who stated I do not have that type of customer here and would not take it as a trade. $16.000 hit in 6 months. That's almost criminal.

I can't believe he paid $76k new!!!
These cars have been going for mid to low $60's since the new year. I think the problem is when you initially bought the car. Whoever you got it from seriously ripped you guys off! |

You don't buy a new car and expect to trade it in 6 months, regardless of the car you're going to take a big hit. The more expensive the car was to start the bigger the hit is going to be.
He might as well just live with his decision for a couple years. It's going to take a good while before he's right side up. It would be the same if you bought most other 76k dollar cars, the only exception I might see is a corvette, and only if you bought it before the price increases.

The pricing of this car has dropped on the market, that's why he was only offered $60K....

I'm kinda surprised they offered 60. I've seen new ones for low 60s.

I do not know were your looking. There's about 10 Z/28's in my area of NJ and no one is selling much lower than MSRP $76.000. saw one for $72,000.????

My Dad just bought a 2015 Hellcat at sticker price (64k) many people this year have paid 10k, 20k, mark ups! Many people paying 100k for a car thats now worth 55k for a trade in...
Its not criminal its just cars. I bought my 2015 ZL1 for 51k, with taxes and everything 56k.. I'm sure the most they would offer me is 45k for a trade it, 9k loss in 1 month. When I was buying my ZL1 they tried so hard to convince me to get the Z/28 on the lot, they would have sold it to me for 60k or cheaper.

As others have stated he should have taken the $60 and been happy. Paying $76 for a Z/28 is a bit much. I'm a fan of the car but not the price your getting it for.
