What are your winter Plans?

Hello Gen5 Group.

Winter is almost upon us. In some parts of our great Nation, it already is.

What are you going to do with your Camaro over the winter?

Do you take the winter down time to catch up on maintenance or get ahead with mods for the spring season or do you let your Camaros get some hibernation?

Here in Texas we do not often get to experience 4 season so we would love to hear how y'all fare the winter. Let us know!

Well,

As soon as I can get all my plans lined out I'll be spending more $ with y'all than my wife will be happy about. Planning suspension upgrades and y'all seem to have me about covered.

No Winter break for my Baby, getting together a parts list pre ProCharger. Suspension is done, 3.73 gears are in, some more bushings (Cradle, motor mount. and other parts), ZL1 fuel pump, Intercooler, injectors etc.

I plan to drive it most of the winter since we only get a couple of winter storms here in Southwest Missouri. But when salt is on the road, it will hibernate in the garage.

I lived in MO for 18 months when I was at Ft L-Wood. I had a pristine 65 Merc Caliente, 2 door hardtop that was rusted out in the rear quarters after one winter. That was in the early 1980s. Whatever they put on the roads back then was deadly to cars.

Plans are few small mods and lots of driving, we get about one week of snow per year here, give or take a few days, gonna try and drive to some of the more popular spots by the beach and sound, way less people out and about there with the rain and cold so you can get a bit of peace and quiet. Might try and strap a kayak on top again, didn't have the best of luck last year. Going to start putting together suspension upgrade pile after new years, but that won't be put together until spring probably.

Ok, kayak on the top...but please, no trailer hitch!

I'm only laughing because I owned a 79 Z28 that came with a hitch. I actually used it once before removing it.

I once saw a 6th gen on the road with a trailer hitch mount, they had one of those bike racks attached to it, I did also consider it once because car definitely has enough torque for a small trailer(maybe not the suspension) but I honestly don't have a use for it and if I did, I would only do it if I could completely hide it out of the way when not used.

I know I joke about it, but hitches are a thing in the PNW! I'm from Oregon and it wasn't all that uncommon to see Camaros of any generation running around with a hitch or a drift boat being hauled behind.

Yeah, a trailer hitch would just not be right on the Camaro! But also someone forgot to tell this Vette owner!! lol.

Same here. I left Connecticut for South West Florida and never looked back.
