ToddB would know for sure, being he's replaced his.

On the cable tensioners, you can slid your finders just under the edge of the seam and they should be snug. If they're broken or not routed correctly you'll be able to easily slid you fingers under the edges. You would also notice windnoise with air getting under it, similar to having the window cracked open.

is this something we can tighten on our own or should it go to the dealer?
reason I ask this is because my passengers side is not tight at all and yes it sounds like the window is cracked open.

thanks for any info I can get on this

Fwiw, that was the same side as mine. I had the dealer repair mine. He had to replace the whole cable on mine. I'm not sure what all it involved, it was in the shop for two or three days.

I just had a look at my top. on the drivers side there is a small steel cable passing through the rubber weatherstrip and connected to the top just above the rear quarter window. Nothing like that on the passengers side. I'm thinking that maybe the problem.

If you see the metal cable along either side of a replaced top, it was routed incorrectly. It needs to go back and redone the correct way. If not, you will have nothing but problems moving forward. Take it from someone that has been there already.
