How much will the 2013 SS's drop to?
Hey everyone,
The other day I swung by my local Chevy dealer to see the new 2014 SS's and get some prices. One thing I though of while I was there was how much they would be letting the old 2013 SS's go for now that they have the new body style. I asked the sales guy for a comparison, comparing a fully optioned (minus auto trans, sun roof or convertible) 2013 2SS vs the same in a 2014 2SS. The sales guy (was at Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet, for those who live here) said they would do around 40k on the new 2014, but could get me the 2013 for 34k, still new. Now I am not particular over the 13 or 14, I think they both look good (prefer the 13 slightly over the 14 in looks). I am thinking about upgrading my '12 2LS in December and would want to know, for those of you with experience, how much lower do you estimate a fully optioned 2013 2SS would go for then? Anyone here ever get a really good deal on last second model clearance care to share their numbers, just for me to get an estimate/idea? Thank you for all of you in advance!

I had my guy quote me at $45,000. But I was more so asking just for the hell of it. Honestly, if wanted to trade up to a new Camaro, or a C7 I wouldnt let mine go for any less than that. But it all depends on what its all worth to you.
Edit: Never mind, guess I cant read right in the morning.

I love your LS, you should keep it!
If you can wait 'til the 6th gen comes out, that would be the best time to get deals on a 5th gen SS.

If you can get a 13 for 6k less I say go for it. I just bought a 13 2SS Vert with the RS package got 5500 of sticker I thought that was good.

Tailights on the 13 are better! Well that's my opinion anyhow. But if your looking for for the upgrade in just power alone- why not just get the 13 for that reason. 34k for a 2SS is a steal for brand new. My 2SS sticker was just under $46k.

As for price drops on the 13's, it will all depend on supply and demand. Most dealers don't want a car sitting on their lot for too long. As they get more 14's in, they will begin dropping the price of any remaining unsold 13's. As the price drops a little, more people are interested in that 13 over the 14. But at the same time, that will cause them to run out of '13 inventory. If a person waits a little, they might get a really good deal on a leftover '13. But you also risk waiting too long and not having any leftovers to choose from.

I can only tell you my experience.
I started looking for a 12 in December and found most local dealers knocking $3k-$4k off once January hit. I found a couple willing to go to $6k-$7K off, but they were NOT local. I bought a left over 12, MSRP was just a bit over $44K and I walked out the at $34K in February. It was not a local dealer, I did have to fly to get it ($150) and drive it back. My experience shows you have to be willing to walk away, and don't be afraid to travel. There are alot of high volume dealers that will move the leftover inventory. I started my search on Ebay!!!

I paid $34K for my 2013 2SS/RS w/ sunroof, stripes, inferno orange accent and badA$$ factory rims (msrp $40,000+).
I asked the dealer why it was so cheap he said it was they were clearancing 2013. I bought the car August 6th. The car had 125 of unaccounted for miles though?? oh well no problems yet |

All I know is the dealer tried selling me a '13 SS2 for only 3K less than the '14. I told them they were trippin'.

I got lucky- my match was only 150 miles away and was trailered in on dealers expense. I'm sure they blindly added it something I didn't see lol
