87 vs 93 fuel

I have a friend that says i should be running premium fuel on my v6 camaro because of its high compression (11-1) but ive been running on regular and have not had any problems what do you guys think?

Per your owners manual, 91 octane is recommended but lower octane fuels can be run with reduced performance.

Ok so i tested the 87 fuel vs the 93 fuel and did not feel much of a difference so i think i will stick with 87 for now

You need to be more concerned on how much ethanol % is in gas.
Damn feds approved cars newer then 2000 for E15 or 15% ethanol.
More ethanol % the leaner engine will be running, the fuel mileage also drops and so does the performance.

Takes only a few minutes to test gas for ethanol so if in doubt test and also query gas stations used and require they know how much ethanol is in their gas.

Typically People don't notice slight losses in performance but will notice increases in performance easier.

GM has done a great job at making the changes seemless.
