Thumbs up new camaro FINALLY!!!!!

This camaro is gonna be awesome. Chevy finally has done something right. Hopefully they'll change the sidemirrors. Reccommend waiting for 2010s to come out so they work all the bugs out. New transformers movie 7-4-07. Chevy(good) versus Ford(bad).

Cool supercharged LS7!

Hey btw, new camaro is supposedly going to have a 600hp supercharged LS7 option($35,000 option). I'm gonna shoot for the lowly 500hp LS2. Black hardtop-manual 6 speed(optional 6-speed PADDLE-SHIFTER might be available). All this info was in one of my car mags-PHR or HOT ROD. Had a list of all available options chevy was looking at providing and a possible cost. Also had a link to complete opinion poll on these items. When I was in elementary school I fell in love with the '85 IROCs. Ever since then I've owned dozens of third-gens but never a new camaro. My new 'stang stomper will be devouring rice-rockets on the local streets. YEEEEEEHOOOOO!!!!!!

Welcome to the site Pike. We don't know what engine combos will be available for the Camaro yet...no LS1,2,3,6,7, etc. no superchargers either. We've never seen or heard of the engines going in...according to a VERY good source. We have a link for the Hot Rod option list in here somewhere. It was just an idea Hot Rod had to get peoples opinions back to GM. This was the poll and link you were talking about.

Oh, and check out the what will change thread to get the scoop on...well...what will change...hehe.

Woo hoo! Another San Antonio member! Welcome to the site, Luna. You will be sure to find anything and everything about the new Camaro as we get the information. We'll make sure you get into a nice 5th Gen as your 1st Camaro for sure.

Talking

Hi, I am a former camaro owner. I used to have a 88 TTop coupe with the TBI 305 with an auto tranny. it had aftermaket cragar mags, and a grant steeing wheel to replace the fugly vertical rectangle center wheel. I sold it in 99, and shortly after the new owner totaled it. I have been wanting to get another one, as much as I LOVE the 5th gen car, I will probably get another 3rd or maybe a 4th gen car for now. I love the site and will be a active participant in the future .

I just joined today and I am having a blast! I am 54 years old, have 4 f-bodies and a few other vehicles and I bought my first Camaro in 1981 and still have it. I work at GM Powertrain here in St. Catharines, Ontario where the "Worlds Best Powertrains" come from. I help Organize our annual Show & Shine Event at the Plant that is open to all GM Powered vehicles and includes a plant tour. This is all free of charge. I have been married for almost 32 years and have three children, 2 boys 17 & 19 and a girl 13 going on 18! I am a cancer survivor and if you are 50 or over please ask your Doctor for a Scope!

WOW,
Welcome 3whiterag! BTW, I'm "only" 49 (sheesh). It sounds like we may have to lean on you for some inside scoop!
I can't keep away from this site. Visited my local dealership yesterday and introduced myself to the fleet manager, very nice lady by the way, but she said that I was still on her Camaro list for any details and all she could say was, "it comes out in 2009.......". I said yea, but maybe sooner?
Anyway, welcome again,
Ken

Thanks Ken! Much appreciated! From what I have seen, I think I am going to like it here. Lots of info and everyone seems very respectful of each other.
