i use torco 5w40 non dexos approved but they have stritcher testing methods than dexos so whatever!

This is an interesting topic that I've wondered about, specifically with the ZL1 1LE. Looking at the Dexos approved oils list, I don't see any 15w-50 viscosity oils listed. However, that is what is required per the supplemental manual when tracking the car. So in order to stay true to the Dexos approved oils only, you'd have to go against what's recommended in the supplemental manual.

I personally, run the specified viscosity oils recommended, and just use Mobil 1. So on the street I'm running a Dexos approved oil, but on track I'm not.
