Do I need centering rings ?

As the title says . I bought a set of used wheels and have a vibration at higher speeds . 22" savani wheels . The vibration is driving me nuts. The last owner says that they didn't vibrate on his camaro so I'm wondering if it could be the centering rings .
And I didn't have the vibration with the original wheels on so that rules out the car .
Any help would be great , thanks

yeah you would want to check to see if the rings are needed. Also some wheels when first cold are hard an will make you vibrate until they warm up

Check that the wheels aren't bent and that the wheels/tires are properly balanced.

Make sure that the Tinnermann nuts (those thin, flat assembly things) have been removed from the studs. Many (if not most) aftermarket wheels cannot accommodate leaving them on.

Loosen and retorque the lug nuts in a true star pattern in several steps, and get the lug nuts somewhat tighter than just "snug" before lowering the wheel to the ground. Tighten them some more (in the star pattern) before putting the full weight of that corner of the car on that wheel for full tightening/torquing.

Absolutely do not fully tighten each lug nut as you go through the star pattern just once.

It would definitely be the lack of hub rings that are causing those vibration, almost every time you buy aftermarket wheels you would need to get hub rings due to the difference in bore and hub size. So no worries, just get an inexpensive set, put them on your wheels and your good to go!

Thanks guys , I'll order the centering rings today . Hopefully that takes care of the vibration because they look great on the car.

I think he means the tires when cold are flat spotting. Once they warm up they smooth out.
