Thanks everyone for your input and recommendations. Well I decided to spend more money (LOL) for the fest and purchased a GoPro Hero 4 Black edition. I figured if I am going to commit to this idea of filming the Camarovan that I think I will be participating in along with all the other activities at the fest I should just go all in. It has alot of interesting features including the ability of using my smart phone to control it and of course 4k picture quality.

I saw that one, and really want to upgrade. Also want to get a soloshot. You can set it up on the side of the track and it will follow your car.

there is another one coming out called fly360 something and it takes a 360 view and you can move it around at any time and look at it really cool but don't think it is out yet.

on a small course that would be great but on ncm i don't think it would look all that good. But would work better with a video that zooms in and out

If you can afford the Hero 4 Black (or Silver) then go that direction. Not anything better in that price range. If money is an issue look at SJCAM. The original SJ4000 is as good as the plain old GoPro Hero and cost less with more features. Make sure it's the SJCAM brand. They were the original clone and never copyrighted. Many have now cloned their product with defective Chinese parts.

Ok I purchased the GoPro 4 Black. I took a good amount of videos. i downloaded them to my Macbook. I started viewing some of them but there is alot of pausing going on while the video is playing. What did i do wrong? I still have the original videos on the mini SD card.

Did you upload into GoPro Studio and process the clips?

Umm? No? I just uploaded it through my video/photo app on the Macbook. How do I get to the GoPro studio? Do I go to the GoPro website or something?
