2005 gto auto vs 2010 Camaro ss auto

So my cousin's friend has an ls2 gto and it's straight piped with an air intake only and he is saying he can beat me with all my mods (in signature) that I have on my car currently. We are both pretty good drivers. I don't think he can beat me. What do you guys think? Could I beat him from a 60 roll and dig? I know that the l99 has the same amount of horsepower as the gto(400) and weighs about 200 more.

I would hope the L99 can beat him otherwise you wasted your money on the Camaro.

The biggest difference between the two cars is transmissions, while both are auto, his is 4 speed, yours is 6. I'd think that would get you off the line a bit faster.

Only one way to find out though.

Just dont spin the tires form the dig youll be fine. 60 roll easy breazy. Youll convert the power and put it down a lot quicker especially with your superior trans and rear dif

Stock it's really a driver's race, which in automatics is kinda moot.

But since you're modded and have the better gearing I'd say you can take him...especially from a roll where those 4 speeds have several dead spots.

If he has longtubes and a matching tune watch out though, those usually wake em up pretty well and could hang with you (but still not really beat you).

Thanks, that's good to know. I watched a few videos on YouTube and the outcome is either one way or the other. Either the Camaro wins or the gto, but not by much.

Update! So I thought he just had an exhaust, but I asked him and along with the straight pipe exhaust he has a k&n air filter, G force driveshaft and a tune from a handheld. So does this change things a little bit?
