If I remember correctly current Blue Ray disc cant hold the amount of data that is required for 4k. Remember reading it somewhere. Though it is awesome that both systems atleast support it.

A 4K movie is around 100 GB I believe, so a Blu Ray (XL?) should handle it since those go up to 128 GB.

JMO opinion but 4k is just not worth it until more companies are on bored. There's very little content available for it yet.... But once it picks up steam I'm all for it!
"The Sony Bravia X900A (MSRP $4,999) is the first 4K TV we've tested (though a few others are already on the market). It's a strange beast: a 4K TV living in a non-4K world. This puts consumers in a tough position: if you want to watch actual 4K content, you need Sony's $699 media player, which comes pre-loaded with 10 movies, including The Amazing Spiderman, Karate Kid, Total Recall (the latest versions of all three—sorry to get you excited). You'll be bored of these films in less than a week. While Sony plans on adding a 4K download store to the content player, the actual arrival date is a mystery" http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2...4k-tv/2589489/ |

Sony always has a method to its madness, I might sound like a fan boy but Sony has never let me down on any purchase on any product I have from them I have faith in due time they will have a lot of their products in 4K and the market will grow |

I will wait for the second Gen 4k so that all the bugs are worked out and there is A LOT more content.... I wonder how soon video games will be able to match the resolution... That's gonna be crazy. By no means am I knocking your decision to get one now... Just sharing my opinion and you know what they say about those.... |
