2014 Stingray vs e92 BMW m3

Great write up! Can't beat the practicality of having 4 seats however I am surprised that they didn't mention that amazing fuel economy that the corvette gets. Performance on the other hand, no comparison!!!

This is a really weird comparison.

Stay tuned for next week's test: a 1987 Yugo vs a 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport!

Why is this weird? They are similar price point, v8, performance coupes. I understand that there are a ton of differences but i'm sure there are people out there cross shopping the two. You don't do comparisons based on differences, if there are enough similarities then I think that's all you need. In this case, there are enough!

^^^ Agree.

To take it a step further, I have cross-shopped a V8 sedan (C63 AMG) vs. V8 sporty coupes (Mustang, Camaro, etc.) on the notion that I first ranked/looked at performance and costs before ruling out number of doors or seats. Different strokes for different folks.

how lame m3 is. it ran out of Launch Control. .

I think that is lame that bmw would count how many times you can use L.C . Then take it away.Vette is a better car but the new m4 is a sweet ride..

The M3 is one of the best cars I have ever tracked. It's not about the peak numbers, but more about the feeling, sound and confidence inspiring driving experience I got. Now that being said I am looking forward to driving the new beast that is the C7. This might be the first GM product I would buy since the G8.

How so? The Corvette has always competed against the M3 and Porsche 911. Pick up any issue of ROAD & TRACK or CAR & DRIVER for the last 5-7 years and there are numerous comparisons between the 3 brands and their halo sports cars. They all represent a great performance bargain that can be daily driven w/ luxury and class and then flogged around the track on weekends. The New C7 just closed that gap on the "luxury and class" feel over the last C6 and I'm sure new buyers will have a much tougher decision to make between all 3 cars as the new M4 is supposed to be bad ass (we already know both the 2014 911 Porsche and 2014 C7 vette are bad ass ).
