Anyway good luck with truecar. They're going away soon anyway LOL. Buying a 2016 camaro for $3k over msrp is exactly like going to a baseball game and buying a $12 Budweiser. You can buy a 12 pack at stater brothers for $11.99 but the ball park charges that because they can and every fan gladly buys a few beers each game. This is how our capitalistic society works my friend
Right, beers at a ball park = cars.

Which is why people are buying this very car at this very dealership for invoice.

This dealer has nearly the exact car I want but it isn't the turbo 4 banger.

Hard to find one without all the options I plan on replacing (audio, etc)

Basically it's the same thing is my point. Ask your realtor to buy your house for invoice. Better yet go buy a 69 COPO Camaro for invoice.

"Invoice" doesn't mean anything anyway. Only thing that actually matters is what you buy the car and that you're happy with your purchase

Everything has meaning. Within a couple hudred dollars of KBB value is what is turning out to b "invoice" on these cars right now....may not be the true meaning of the word but from plugging in all the options from ppl who say they got "invoice" price into KBB I'm getting awfully close to KBB value. Certainly doesn't seem to be a random number given out by their dealers, or mine.

I've been in the car business my entire life man. What you think invoice is, isn't really "invoice". KBB has no affect on new cars. KBB is a guideline used buy banks to determine the amount of money they should loan on a particular car. Stupid because no two used vehicles are the same. One has been wrecked and the other hasn't but kbb is the same?? Dumb huh

Anyway it doesn't matter to me. Congrats on your car ANT. At least you got a great deal

I work at KBB.

We're not technically supposed to affect or determine prices for anything. Rather, we act as a single point reference for what the various markets are paying.

Does acting as a reference feed back into the market? sure. What's dumb is completely misrepresenting and/or understanding how any of that, or the way banks/courts utilize it for values works or functions. Which you apparently do not.

Well I'm in the car biz too, and I agree KBB may be a reference but it's not in the hand of the pre owned mgr when he puts a number on a car, he's looking at auctions and local data. Kbb is not wrong but it certainly is not determining factor.

So a 2 year old Tacoma that has 25k miles on it has a higher KBB than the invoice on a BRAND NEW Truck. Is said 2 year old truck supposed to be worth more than a brand new truck?? How does that make any sense??

I use KBB everyday and not knocking it... Just saying it is a "guideline"

$80 doc fee and $20 permit back to Vegas.

Thanks for the info. Good to know so others can use this as a guideline for negotiations with the dealer.
