Black marks on garage floor below muffler

Is this normal? I am getting black marks on the garage floor below the muffler. The muffler also has two strips on it where the main pipe connects to the muffler. Take a look?

Not normal.

Are there holes or loose connections where condensation can leak out?

Looks like sooty water dripping out from somewhere.

I don't know where the weep holes are on this muffler...

And was this after a drive or just a short run in place? After a drive it's usually hot enough to evaporate right?

This is my normal parking spot in the garage. I never noticed before, but today I walked to the mailbox after a drive and saw the spots under the car. It is not wet. Car has about 1700 miles on it. Oil level is normal

That should be exhaust soot with water vapor. I get that at the end of the tail pipes. It must be humid there.

Someone else said some exhaust designed to weep a little water, so it doesn't collect inside. Its just a little odd, because I hadn't noticed it before and our other cars don't do that.

Mine did they same thing. Moisture built up in mufflers from sitting, a cold rich start, and idling in place.

That makes sense, I sometimes start the car and sit in it at idle and read the manual and play with all the gadgets while trying to figure everything out.

Yes its fine, and completely normal. The mufflers have two drain holes in those locations. it sucks, but it is what it is.

Thanks for the info! I am still trying to figure this car out and walking outside and seeing those black spots was not fun and had me a little worried.

Totally normal. I have the same stains on my garage floor. My old gen 5 LS3 did it and now my gen 6 LT1 does it. It looks like crap but it's a small price to pay for 455 HP.

Agree. Apologies. Pulled the trigger on that one a little too quick.
