P0191

Hey everybody, haven't been here in awhile. anyhow, still have my 2012 camaro LS, about 130k miles on it now. been great car, never a problem........until now, lol. anyhow, I was on my way home today and while driving noticed a significant drop in power. when i looked at the dash the stabilitrack, CEL, and traction lights were all on, and the DIC said engine power reduced. I pulled over, turned it off, stated it back up, same thing. repeated again. I was about 4 miles from home, so I drove it. when I got home I plugged in my code reader and got P0191, fuel rail pressure sensor "A" circuit range/performance.

now the weird part. I went to my car to check it again, been off maybe 5 minutes, and when I started it up there was no longer any lights but the CEL. the DIC was back to showing the speed too. i took it for a quick spin around the block, drove like normal.

so, any thoughts, ideas? was it an arbitration? something temporary? safe to drive?

Probably a temporary problem that reset itself but needs a certain amount of drive cycles to reset the CEL. Unless you cleared the code when you read it.

It may come back as an issue or clear up and never set again.

Because it seems to be an intermittent issue at this time I would put a fuel rail pressure sensor in it and clear the code. I see a lot of FRP sensors go bad so I would start there. GL
