Sounds like you got it in a "fire" sale.

I bought my '10 about 2 years ago with 63K on it. I've got just over 100K on it now and it's worth more than I paid for it! I did get a stupid killer deal so that helped!

Perfect car, well cared for. The dealer just kept lying and bullshitting. Each time I caught them in a lie they would take a few more hundred off. In the end the car listed for $20,500 and I ended up getting it for 14. Such a deal!

I didn't realize the 5th gens started appreciating already. I have noticed that ZL prices have stabilized a bit.

I actually pulled up some Auto Trader ads to show a friend how sad it is for BMW these days.

I used to work for BMW and was a huge BMW freak but the newer ones caused my love to fade. Real BMW's have round tail lights.

A BMW 750 that sold new for $95 - $98,000 in 2010 sold the same day as my 2010 Camaro with the same mileage today is worth about half of what 2010 Gen 5 SS's and such are going for.

BMWs are beautiful cars, they drive well. If you can afford to make payments on a new one then dump it before the warranty runs out then go for it. After the warranty runs out unless your name is Trump or Bezos you can't afford to keep it running.

I'm in the market (and have been since Feb-March) and prices are certainly up. Same cars that were 21k when COVID hit are 25-26 now. Also, very few low mileage cars out there so that's not helping prices. Great time to sell for sure.

The used market for EVERYTHING is sky high right now. Lots of people working part time, or out of work collecting unemployment with the additional $600/week suddenly have extra money. I just bought a NEW tractor because USED ones were $25-$30k for 10-20 years old with thousands of hours, well I bought a NEW one for $42k with a 6 year warranty and can make payments instead of paying outright. Go look at Dirt bikes or Quads, same scenario. I bought a NEW 10k GVW car trailer for $5k cash where as there were a few USED ones a few years old asking $5-$6k... I laughed.

It is not just 5th Gens as Greenhornet2 stated. The used car market/prices are way up on most vehicles.

Exactly. It's not that 5th gens are suddenly collectors items. Everything is high right now.

KBB says mine's worth $10k at 177k miles (currently at 175.2k miles). It was around $7500 last time I checked a few years ago...

yea, I'd imagine with the introduction of 4 cylinder camaro's and mustangs it's only natural the price of the 6's and 8's would go up. im sure chevy raised the prices on the new ones to put the 4's at the price point the 6 used to hold. of course, at the end of the day a car like this is basically worth what someone is willing to pay. Kbb and stuff like that is pretty meaningless.

Just did a KBB check on mine. I've had it 2 years and have put 40,000 miles on it and it's still worth 4K more than I paid for it.

I'm good with that.
