Battery Tender
Quick question, does a battery tender have to hook straight to the battery or can it hook to the + port and - terminal under the hood?

I have a tender but I hooked straight to the battery. Other members have posted, and say you can hook them up under the hood it and works just fine. You'll still be sending a charge to the battery so you should be fine. Maybe some who has actually gone this route will chime in.

Hmmm...the tender I had for my 911 TT just simply plugged into the accessory
power outlet inside the cabin...then you would just carefully shut the door on the wire (made sure it was loose each time) and then plugged the tender into the wall??? Maybe the one for Camaro works different???

Hook it to the red cap port, and ground it and your good to go.

I hooked mine up to the battery directly. Ran the hook up line under the edge of the trunk liner and it is just inside the trunk lip. I pop the trunk, attach the lead, and put the trunk lid down, not latched, for charging. So in your case you would pop the hood, to access the terminals in engine compartment. I chose to pop the trunk, to go directly to the battery.

I did the same as above. As for a charger I use a Sears Diehard charger, and have had no problems so far. I paid 35$ on sale. http://www.sears.com/diehard-platinu...Q&gclsrc=aw.ds
