Haven't they been developing a full BEV Corvette for a while now? I would think we would see that a good while before an EV Camaro.

Even the Trax stole its styling from the Camaro.

Why would they think we need the Camaro to be made into an SUV or a 4 door sedan?

From scratch, yes, but the Camaro has been a parts bin car for a long time. It certainly won't take defining and implementing a brand new platform to launch a real Camaro again. (This assumes that a suitable platform will still exist, but if it doesn't, there will be no Camaro anymore, a few thousand sold units per month will never justify a new platform.)

They can't even get the EV blazer off the ground. Remember when it was supposed to be available for purchase this summer? They JUST NOW started producing them and all the ones produced for the next several months are for dealer demo's. Made a $100 deposit a year ago and have already given up on GM EV's after watching their Lyric fiasco (can't make them fast enough to fill made orders and a TON of software issues).

Complete with fake transmission and fake sound. It's a winner for sure! You have to hand it to them, they have their fingers on the pulse of muscle car enthusiasts.

Once they take our gas away in a few years we will be left to resort to these measures and pig farms.

Oh, man. Imagine the name "Camaro" simply becoming the high performance trim level of the EV Blazer.

Come one, come all! Get the "First-Ever" ChEVrolet Blazer EV Camaro.

No, if you read quotes from Tad Juchter etc they say their corvette customers "are very clear they don't want a full electric corvette."

So they care what corvette buyers think. Camaro buyers have told them the same thing but they don't care, its time to whore out the second most legendary name in GM performance history to sell battery powered virtue signaling status symbols to yuppie buyers trying to project their environmental awareness street cred.

GM just let the name die, you can build the same car you're wanting to already and, hell call it PANTHER if you want but don't call it Camaro.

I remember people saying the same thing when the 82 came out.

EV's are piling up....

Like I've said in so many other EV threads in this and other forums. The consumer will dictate if EVs are the future or not. Well, they are starting to speak with their wallets.

Yes, Ford is said to be losing $34k on every EV they sell. ICE engine cars are subsidizing the electrics.

I smell another govt bailout for Mary/GM with their all EV by 2035 goal.

Without the Gov incentives EV sales would have probably only been 1/2, if that of what they have been to date. Manufactures keep jacking the cost of ICE vehicles to subsidize EV manufacturing. Now consumers aren't paying the cost of new ICE vehicles either because the average cost of a new ICE vehicles have gotten out of reach for most Americans.
