2017 2SS - Squeaky Brakes and Noisy Suspension after 9,000 miles

As the title suggests, I have a 2017 2SS with about 9,000 miles on it. Over the past few hundred miles, I've noticed the brakes have started to squeak as I get close to a complete stop (squeaking usually starts under 10 mph).

I've also noticed that there's a lot of noise from the suspension when going over relatively minor bumps or cracks in the road, like a hisssst or pssst air sound from the suspension. I do not have the magnetic suspension.

Just wanted to see if these are normal/common or if it's something the dealer should check out.

I have the same problem with My brakes. I have read that the ONLY way to stop the NOISE is to change the Pads!!!! The Suspension noise could be Shocks.

I will say pads are normal. These pads are noisy.

I dont hear any noise from suspension.

I've been thinking about doing getting new pads to eliminate the brake dust problem too. I have the low-gloss black wheels and they are just a magnet for the brown brake dust generated by the OEM pads. I'm cleaning the wheels every few days and they still look terrible.

Would the dealer likely replace the shocks for making that noise or would they say it's just normal wear and tear?

I've already had to replace a blown strut once, but the noise doesn't seem to be coming from the replaced strut.

Did you buy it used? If so, I suggest bedding in the brakes.

You can buy new PowerStop pads (Z23) for under $100 and they are easy to replace. Don't even have to take the caliper off the rotors. They come out of the top.

I would say noisy brakes are not normal for only 9,000 miles. Many here have more miles (I'm at 11,500) with no such problems. With brakes they can go bad early if you're hard on them. I recently had a new pad crumble on my beater so it can even be a parts quality issue. If you had something wrong with the suspension you would feel it. I wouldn't be too concerned with air sounds. I think thats normal.

If you are experiencing brake noise try and pull the pads, grease them and the pins. suspension noise have not had any on my Camaro, maybe get under it or ask the dealer to all the bolts are torqued. I once had this problem on a truck I had and I finally had a tech on about the tenth visit find a A Arm bolt loose.

Mine made a lot of noise after just 1000 miles on the car. Just replace the pads and no longer deal with noise and dust.

Pads, change them. It happens on any car. I've never owned a car that didn't squeak at some point. The type of pads matter a lot.

Have the dealer inspect the shocks. In my experience, a slight hiss sound is normal depending on how big the hump is. However, if it got louder over time, then it could be an issue.
