Possible Torque Tube Problem?...

I was coming home from a car show today and hit a couple of bumps in the road and heard a couple of metallic thumps.

A few miles later the same thing.

These bumps were your typical crack heaves in asphalt. Not very big.

This metallic thump, is this what people hear when they have a torque tube problem?

If you have a A6 the noise is like a rattle & can of marbles coming from under and to the rear of the car, most people having the problem could detect it sitting and ideling, being the prop shaft is always turning. If you have a M7 I am not sure what the symptoms would be, but you have a A6 which have had more TT problems than the M7. Just take it to the dealer and they will determine the cause.

BRCC is correct. My A6 has been at dealer Service for a week waiting for a new TT to come in. It sounded like marbles at idle coming from the middle of the car. There is a service bulletin on the common problem.

My C7 has been at the dealer for a week now. GM sent an empty torque tube with no guts. Once the service shop figured it out... they ordered the correct part. Now GM is telling the service shop that the torque tube is on backorder. (not surprising considering all of the forum members with the same issue) I have no idea how long I will be without my car at this point. Do I escalate to Customer Service? Any pointers on how to expedite?
