I hold my patience until the seat moves forward enough for me to reach the clutch pedal. Some days, I swear, it moves slower than others.

Honestly, if I had the opportunity to spec out a 'maro the way I really wanted it, I'd have skipped the sun roof. But I bought the one on the lot because: 1) it was a 6-speed 2) black and 3) the price was right.

After a little search, I saw where the '17 owner manual states that it DOES indeed come with auto open & close.
Obviously it doesn't... Seems like Chevy screwed up something.

I haven't gotten a chance to mess with one on the lot, but it could be a setting in the mylink screen.

As for the keyfob, for it to automatically go to the position, the desired positions key fob must be used to unlock the door.

The last person that called it a 'maro hasn't been seen since.

The problem with this world is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,
but why don't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself.

The manual for the 2016 states "express open" and doesn't mention express close. I thought my button may be broken until I read that.

Yes. But the '17 manual states otherwise.
Either Chevy engineering didn't get the note and failed to apply the newer function into MY17 or they misprinted the manuals, which seems highly unlikely.

I would disagree. Door windows go up automatically. Better chance to get an arm caught in them than the sunroof. Must be another reason.

Not really… Express window feature on the side windows has anti-pinch, sunroof does not. Why they didn't put anti-pinch on the sunroof I don't know, probably cost. But as long as it doesn't have that , they're not gonna allow it to close with one button because of accidents/litigation.

Interesting point. So cars that have auto-close sunroofs all have anti-pinch? And what about the liability of us closing the sunroof manually while ignoring our passenger's hand sticking out and damaging their hand?

Funny how this thread has now become a legal analysis on "anti-pinch" technology. I still don't believe that is why we don't have the auto close feature, but what do I know about laws? LOL

So tell me why my wife's 2014 impala has auto close?? Not buying the litigation thing.

As I mentioned earlier it's an FMVSS requirement, not fear of litigation.......or not just fear of litigation.

Once you remove your finger from the switch of any power closure panel it becomes unattended and require an auto reversing feature.
