XPEL

Can someone please inform me of the best spots to have Xpel put on the car? Taking delivery next week and want to make sure I wrap it properly to avoid rock chips. Thanks!

I bit the bullet and had mine completely covered front to back top to bottom. I had something hit the right front section just below the headlight. Whatever it was caused a large 1/4 inch mark on the xpel coating. I took the car back to the installing shop, they replaced the section at no cost. There was no damage to the paint when they removed the damaged section.
I just returned from a 3,000 mile trip and saw no damage anywhere on the car. Also cleaning the bugs off the the car was as easy as spraying on the cleaner and wiping the car off. I have not had to wax my 2015. I have applied the sealer twice in the past year.

Similar to JDMAC, I went ahead and had the whole front and both sides of my car done back to and including the mirrors. It's worth it.

Has been on my car for 2 years and still looks brand-spanking new ......

Any surfaces that face forward, or are directly behind the tires catch the most hell but you want to do it right, completely cover it. Expel comes in pre-cut sections, or rolls. Opt for pre-cut. Rolls require the installer use a razer blade to cut the sections to shape and there's a risk the installer could cut into the paint. Also pre-cut sections do not complete cover up under the front and rear bumpers and up under the side. Install additional sections there.

Another plus to covering the car completely is you'll never have waxing swirl marks, and also protection from bird droppings, acid rain, tar, etc. XPEL is simple to keep clean.

I had the full front, lower doors, rockers, and lower rear quarter panels done when I got the car two years ago. It is still perfect and I just had the remainder of the car done.

I also had mine completely wrapped with Xpel. But, being my anal self, I had most all edges rolled. They removed the front "bumper" section and all air vent's in order to roll any edges. The only visible edges are the mirrors, roof and sidemarkers. But, even those are almost impossible to see.

Expensive way to do it? Yes.

Like it? Yes.

Side note: car had never been in the rain until on the way home from the shop after getting all of this done. Last 20 miles of the 60 mile trip was done in a down pour.

Lost my hydro virginity. lol

Decided to just go for the full wrap. Also dropped her off to have the tints done to 20% and windshield 50%. Radar and laser jammers built into the car, the strip on the top painted gloss black, and spoiler painted carbon flash. Should have her back in two weeks and can't wait!
