Interested in buying a 2017 SS 1LE. Any advice for a first time GM buyer?
Hey guys
I currently drive a subaru but I have been eyeing the Camaro SS 1LE for a long time. I am looking around at dealers in my area (Los Angeles) and I saw some new 1LEs for 43k. I'm wondering if this is a good price, or if there's a chance to get one for even less. Also, how much did you guys end up paying? The only discounts I might have is from Costco (my family upgraded to the executive membership from the gold membership, and that gives some pretty decent discounts). On a side note, does the SS 1LE have backup camera? I test drove a stick 2SS, and it had a back up camera. Thanks Thanks |

This has been discussed before see below:
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=477932 On a side note, mine is cheapest I've seen so far ($36,400) but it's used (with 880 miles on the clock).. Cheapest brand new one I've seen was $39,900 (with freight charge) + $600 dealer fee = something like $40,400-40,500 range

For me, it was not only finding one but keeping other people away long enough to work a deal.
Had two dealers, one had two cars and the other one. I started talking to them before they even hit the lot. Both cars from dealer one sold within two days at the dealer once they arrived. Somehow people in Jax FL love 1LEs...Lol...Had the same issues with my GTPP, had to drive two hours to find what I wanted. I was finally able to get my White one with PDR for $41k. I would not call it a great deal but I'm happy. Did have the dealer tint the windows and add suntek ppf on bumper, rockers, mirrors, headlight, so that saved me 500-1000. |

Sounds like you are on a short time horizon.
If you end up taking longer, get a GM Card and use that rebate to supplement your negotiated purchase and factory rebate/incentive savings. We cashed in like $600 on ours in December and have a lifetime redemption on the crazy thing of like $15k (on several GM cars since 1995 {it's the "Old Blue" original issue GM Card - no longer issued but grandfathered with 5% earnings and higher redemption caps]). The GM Card also offers bonus rebates sometimes in the slow season even if you don't have much of a rebate balance accumulated, and the earnings and redemption rules of the currently available GM Card are still good. That's my GM "advice". |

I'd say this for any brand and car. I'd buy a factory back extended warranty for as long of years / miles you are planning on keeping it. Negotiate like $100 or $200 over cost (or cost if you can) since it's just some key strokes for the dealer.
With the price of electronic steering racks, fancy radio stuff, PDR, HUD, along with the normal stuff to go wrong, it is cheap insurance. Plus, if you sell, trade, wreck, or whatever the car, you can get a direct pro-rated amount back minus a small admin fee. |

Here's one listed for $38,9k (located in MD) + $995 (freight charge) + $300 = ~$40,200 + TTT that is the cheapest I could find when I was in the market for a brand new one.. I didn't see a cheaper option nationwide

If you want the ultimate first time GM car buying experience I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you contact Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet. Once you buy a vehicle from Becky you will have a hard time buying from another dealer. There is a reason why you see her post at the top of the 1LE sub forum here.
