This reminds me of what happened with the 2014 Z28. They said 500 initially, and then decided to do a run in 2015, and then offered 20% off to move them off the show room floors??
Said they would be limited production?

The initial 500 limit was a conservative guess at the market. They had never done a "track car" like that before. And they all sold out because people had been talking about a Z/28 for YEARS... The data (sold out) suggested that they could produce more in 2015, so they produced somewhere around 1500...but what ended up happening is that between 2014 MY and 2015...people realized that car wasn't anything other than a dedicated, ridiculous-level track car. So demand fell pretty hard because the "truth" came out (rough ride, and no amenities was never a secret), and all the crazed enthusiasts already got theirs. So they did not sell all off them. The 20% off was to try and get rid of the rest...that didn't even work. This time around, it's an option package, not a separate model...so ordering/stocking becomes a bit easier. They've left all the "luxury" gadgets inside...it's not stripped. They've made SURE to clarify that the car is rough and not a daily driver for everyone, and I suspect this car won't be quite as expensive as the Z/28 (just a guess)...so that 750 seems to be far more realistic... |

Agreed on the above, but still for those of us who paid the 14 Z28 price and then seen them going for 20% off at the end of the year were a little upset....

You guys are killing me...... I think I may go ask my local dealer if they have any ZL1-1LE allocations. But I already own 2 Camaros with over 650 whp......Maybe I will turbo the new ZL1-1LE... and sell the SS?

Yes, several of us have been 2000 since the 11th. 2500 around the corner if not sooner.

Great. I'm pretty sure I'm 2000. I got an order number. Too bad they don't do it like BMW where you can check status online or through an automated system over the phone. Or do they?

Definitely check with one of the sources above as just having an order number doesn't mean much.
