Told by Lorenzo Bomnin order will take 2-3 months. Is that too optimistic?

I ordered last night a z51 1lt C7. At first they told me it would be 8 weeks. Later they said three months. After I got home I started reading these forums and it says people are waiting 6-9 months. WTF? They are the #16 vette dealer in the country, with 72 sales last year. Is 3 months a possibility or are they jerking me around?

Within 3 months is a probability. My guess based on spending too many years following this process so I like to think it is an educated guess.

Ordered mine July 23 from Lafontaine and GM hasn't even accepted the order yet , so, 2-3 months doesn't apply to me.

That would mean it isn't really ordered. The dealer has submitted what they'd like to order, but without an allocation, it isn't actually ordered yet.

Have Becky on here check if it's really in 1100 status (what you have described) and you can know for sure.

Until you get a code of 2000, GM has no idea what or who you are....

I was extremely lucky and reached the "completely produced" - "built" stage in, would you believe, 6 weeks? Now the car has been sitting out in the BG side lot for almost 3 weeks. Who can figure? It's a roller coaster. Still in all, and considering what I have been reading, I am lucky, I guess? When the New Year rolls around .... I may feel different and the same as many others.
PS: Only a short while back I would have never thought I would ever pay MSRP. But, compared to my C6 4LT, that I bought new at discount, - when you compare all C7 mechanical, electrical and trim upgrades/improvements ..... The C7 Z51 is cheaper priced at MSRP!

Heard from the dealer. They said I am their 21st preorder this year. I don't know what that means but I told the the internets suggest I would be held up for 6 months or more and the rep told me "not here". I am hoping they can push it through. Such a sweet car. Will call the dealer vette specialist next week.

Which dealer?

And what this means is the Stingray may be exceeding expectations as far as consumer interest. In my opinion, a good thing.

There was a time when Chevy sold over 40K Corvettes each model year. That time was decades ago. Not even the C6 in its best year reached 40K. I think it would be nice if C7 breaks 40K this model year.

Not likely but a fanboy can dream!

I ordered on 6-26.My allocation came up today finally, but no Z51. I'm not sure what's going to happen from here. I guess I will know for sure on Tuesday. I'm not going to order a non Z51 car.

Reasonable attitude from my point of view. You do realize that the Z51 option will likely be on limited constraint for a long time, but I agree with you, I would rather wait to get what I want.

That, to me, is the point of doing a retail sold order.
