well dont worry about them comin out i guess i got to stick to my guns and wait till my camaro comes out and call it a day.Just in case someone thinks i lke the firebird better no they're wrong. I just like the firebird because it will be different other than seeing a damn camaro everywhere. thats one thing i think the challenger will have over the camro the first year your not gonna see as manu challengers as camaro's. good moove for GM more sells but just like the mustang you feel good when you have it but when other people see you their amazment wears off. but lets leave that to another thread i might post.

Yeah, adding the styling we're seeing on the G8 and the new Vibe to the Torana and Commodore wagon and Ute would be much more pleasing to the eye. Kill off the abomination that is the G6 GXP Street Edition, make the Solstice coupe/targa look like the concept as promised, and Pontiac's lineup will be sexy indeed. No screaming chicken for me. That can stay in the '80s.

Im just happy that the G8 is coming out ready to beat those chargers/300c R/T without going to go grab a 400hp + car. finally i love the G8 I'm thinking heavily on trading my suburban in a getting the v8 version and the go get the camaro later in the future. have to monsters in the garage whew. adding to the fact the G8 will kill off time till the camaro comes out.

yeah if i do get the g8 im racing everything in sight besides the 400hp+ cars lol. but once i get the camaro i cant wait to see what i do with it.

The you tube video posted here with Jeremy Clarkson testing the Vauxhaul version of the Commodore/G8 was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Yes his version was powered by the LS2, not the L76, but I'm sure the G8 will still be an absolute stud of a vehicle. I'm definitely considering getting a G8, but I'm sure the Camaro will be at least as good, if not better. It will probably just come down to price, interior quality, and whether the convenience of 4 doors beats out the sportiness of 2 doors.

If pontiac has anything it will be a new GTO, but if they have the G8 GXP I would be surprised to even see the GTO return . . . agian.

Well the original GTO was created by putting a large V8 from a full-size into a mid-size body. So lets say the G8 GXP comes with an LS3, or possibly even a supercharged 6.2 variant. They said the Alpha cars can't fit a V8 in their engine bay, but some people have shoehorned an LS2 into the Kappa platform Solstice, so it very well may be possible to squeeze one into the Alpha car. You do that, and bam, you've got yourself a GTO. Say you have a base model with the 2.4L ecotec, and a GT version with the turboed 2.0L ecotec. Maybe a GXP version with a V6 making around 300hp, and finally a V8 powered GTO. That would be sweet.

The Trans-Am name is a registered trademark by the SCCA, GM would have to license the use of that name again from them, The Firebird name was reregistered as a GM tradmark a couple years ago, along with the Fiero name...So Firebird or Fiero are both Possibilities.

At least my research shows that.

Well now sadly enough it looks like the Pontiac marketing guys are too lazy to come up with real names for their cars, so it looks like G# is what we get from now on. Lame.

yeah i agree to many G's in the names of pontiac and its official im getting the G8 in black v8 sports packages. this will be my charger r/t killer and then i can wait till my camaro comes out aka challenger killer. till then my G8 should entertain me for a bit. (by that i mean till the camaro release.)
