Definitely possible. However, remember that GM has also renewed the "L88" nameplate. So, I wouldn't be surprised if this is just disinformation and the real motor for the Z06 is an N/A L88. Or, what could happen is that you might get a choice of a Z07 package that can be added onto the Z06, just like the C6, and that will give the LT4. Anything's possible at this point, especially when you consider that Ford just revealed the new mustang. This looks more like GM trying to trump their announcement rather than actual facts. We shall see.

Even though Z06's have traditionally been N/A.

If the Z06 ends up with FI... good possibility the MSRP will be at least 90K. Who knows but whatever the outcome is, N/A or not... we will love it! Well... I'm gonna go out on another guesstimated limb and say the Z06 will have this LT4 powerplant! |

Here we go!! Hot off the web-press...
"Days after Chevy released its first teaser, spy shots of the new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 have hit the wire, showing dramatic aerodynamic enhancements, extra vents, and a new hood – which just may be hiding a new 650-hp supercharged V-8 underneath, according to a leaked Instagram photo Despite the fact that it's well camouflaged, this 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 prototype gives away most of its tells up front. The 'Vette's front bumper appears to be heavily reworked, with a larger grille opening flanked by aerodynamic enhancements on either side. Knowing Corvette designer Kirk Bennion's functional design mantra, we're willing to bet those add a decent amount of downforce...... Not sure, but I was just comparing base MSRP Coupe to base MSRP Z06. The 2013 coupe started at about 55. The new coupe starts at about 55, so unless this new FI engine is truly what the Z06 will have, I would assume that the new Z06 would start at a similar price point as the 2013, which was about 75, not 90+. If the rumored LT4 is true... than I think 90+ base is probably right.

S3XPanther posted a pdf about GM's new supercharging patent application. It could be under the cover of the pictured engine.

Plus Kevin mentioned that: "One of the GMI staff writers just posted on FB that LT4 is 100% the Z06 engine."
Like you mentioned to me before Steve... perhaps, well maybe perhaps, no more ZR1 after all. |

I hope the supercharger is retrofit-able into the LT1. Another $90K car is probably not doable for me…unless MrsGunnyG wants a Z51 .
