Unhappy My cat had to be put down today

My cat, Sunny aka 'Baby' (because he was smaller and runty compared to my other cat) had to be put to sleep today because he went blind and along with feline dementia (like alzheimers for cats). and when he was on the 2nd floor he could not find his litter box so i caught him 2 times peeing on the carpet. so we decided it was the best thing for him. he was almost 20 years old. here is a pic i took of him just a few weeks ago.

this is only the 2nd time we had a pet put down, the 1st was a dog i had when i was very little and don't remember. and this is the LONGEST living pet we had, my dog 'Bo' passed away 18 years ago at age 12.

RIP Sunny
1990-2009

Sorry to hear about your cat. We have one that is 3 years old and we love her to death. It is hard to let go of anyone or any pet as they are family..

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I see things like this every day, but it's still sad to see pets euthanized.

Unhappy

thanks guys, it was the hardest on my dad as he was the one who took him and the previous dog that had to be put down. we have another cat that belongs to his girlfriend. he is a big fat fluffy dark gray blotches over white kitty named Jack. for the longest time if Sunny was on the 1st floor where his food and litter were Jack had to stay in the basement where HIS food and litter box was. when I would have Sunny on the 2nd floor on my bed or next to my desk where the PC is Jack would have the run of the 1st floor. now that Sunny is gone, Jack is the main cat and will now have full access to the entire house now, which he will LOVE .

To Sunny, the best damn cat I ever had

Thanks for sharing and condolences to you and the family, I just lost two of my dogs and a cat last year. Never easy to let them go, hope you and the family are feeling better soon.

Sorry for you loss. We had to put down my 13 year old cat a couple of months ago. Had blood in his poop and was always throwing up. When ever we picked him up or he jumped off of something he cried so we knew he was in pain.

Sorry to hear about your cat, we had to put down our 13 year old Doxie, Murray on Friday. He got Cushings disease and lost the ability to swollow. Poor guy, we were trying to force the medicine down his throat until we figured out he couldn't swollow.
