Car is suspect regardless of the cause. I know dealers are getting tired of them taking up showroom space but. You will find plenty that haven't been sitting outside in the Sun for a year. Mine sat from November 2014 to July 2015 inside at the dealer with felt ropes around it. They did let me test drive it so I'm assuming others might have too but it had 13 miles on it when I bought it. The tires certainly didn't look like that. Run away!!!!

Btw which tire is in the pic. Kinda looks like a front from wheel well extension??

Sort of. The tires are under warranty for defects.

I don't see any defects in that pic. I see a tire that probably had a few heat cycles put to it.

Which is probably why the dealer won't warranty it. It's not defective. If they send those tires back for warranty, they'd probably get a nice note back saying no defects found.

+3 chunk of rubber from the Strip! lots of heat circle from low pressure inflation to white smoke burn outs.
I don't think it's been to a track as in circuit since it only has 58 miles...but probably ran more than 20 ¼mile passes.
offer 60K flat
Good luck

The dealer will often try to make you happy by giving you a great price on the vehicle.

However, they will try and make up the difference by low balling your trade ins.

Constantly be aware of what you think your net payment should be and what the net payment they are giving you is. Its a tricky game and often gets over looked when you are looking to purchase a vehicle you are excited over. I think you should easily get $1000 off because of the state of those tires at the mileage on the car. Look on the wheel well for flung rubber from burn outs or hooligan driving in the back lot.

Most road courses are about 1.5 - 3 miles... 20 min sessions, you might run 10 laps ea. Being a dealer, probably has a trailer.

It's not a drag car, it's a road course beast. If I was a dealer, you can bet I'd have a Z28 over to a track day. But I'd do it legit, as a demo and sell it used.

Last time I was at Gingerman here in MI there was a brand new Z28 with dealer plates on it running hot laps. So... it happens... I've seen it. There was also new GT350s there on the same day.

For 58 miles on the car those tires look bad I agree lots of burnouts and no break in time on the engine. Go find one and another dealership and another Z/28

The price is great, I've never seen a Z/28 that cheap. You can get a whole new seat of tires for $800 and still beat the price of any other price for a Z/28.

Are you planning on going to the track? The Z/28 isnt a good daily driver. I would suggest looking at a new ZL1, just got mine for 51k (before taxes) there trying to move them, Plus GM has some good rebates.

I find no logic in that comment, every new Z/28 or ZL1 I've looked at has at least 30-80 miles on it from test drives. And the dealers want you drive it hard in hope that you'll fall in love and buy it. Sure you have to your credit approved before a test drive but thats easy.

Just for fun I went to the Nissan dealer and got approved and drove a GTR, I had no intention of driving it, and I didn't drive it slow.

Lol the Z/28 hype is over, like the ZL1 hype ended awhile ago. Any dealer will let people test drive these there sitting on the lot for months!! Seen the same white Z/28 at my dealer for the last 3 months.... I get you frustration I wish they didn't let people drive these but lets be honest here.

I suppose I was lucky to find a Z/28 with 12 miles on the odometer...it had been sitting at the dealer for 6 months

Bye bye...something just doesn't add up with the tires. Honestly, if they would replace the tires (they should) and sweeten the deal, it is probably o.k. Is the body pristine as a 58 mile should be?

Maybe you're not aware that the stock Z/28 tires will set you back around $2300? And unless you're putting on some junk Chinese tires, you'll still pay around $1500 for a decent set of rubber.

A "new" car shouldn't have more than delivery miles, unless it's being marketed/sold as a demo, IMO.

+7. That is not from burnout. That car, or at least those tires have been to a race track. I would walk far from a dealer that won't replace what are obviously abused tires.

Rodgers Checrolet in woodhaven Mi has a "used" silver Z/28 with under 500 miles for $60k.

I can appreciate your passion, but your perception is warped of how things work.

I have ordered cars without a test drive as well as driven cars that "weren't available for test drives" and then purchased them from dealers that allowed me to drive it. If driven with a salesperson you should not be allowed to abuse the car........but either way it has a 3/36 warranty and 100k powertrain if someone was overzealous.

......and you are aware the Malibu tech is the same one working on the Z/28 and the Z06 right.
