Lethal camaro installed our ZL1 seats in his car and he weighed them in at 77lbs each with the heating and cooling units. They are quite heavy.

I know they're heavy but I didn't realize they were that damn heavy. I marred the dog @#$% out of my door sill putting the seat back in, lost grip on it and bam! Luckily the door sill is replaceable. |

Good to know, but when you bolted the seat back in and hooked up the wires with the battery disconnected or fuse pulled did the airbag light go away and were you able to clear the Airbag code? That's more my concern. |

I never pulled any seats out. I had a full interior during that pass. My light came on randomly on my drive home from the shop and It's still on. I got to find time to get it to the dealer. I just don't trust any dealer to work on my cars.

Back is fine, pride not so much.
Good to know, kinda figured an airbag light wouldn't affect the drivability. |

So i’ve Been busy pulling out all my interior and weighed a few things while i’m Getting the car ready for a Roll cage.
Interior weights Back side panels with speakers: 5.4lbs each Both is 10.8lbs Back seat Bottom seat cushions: 11lbs Back seat Upper cushion: 18lbs Upper panels by rear glass: 1lb each, 2lbs total Tow attachment: 2.4lbs Tire inflation kit: 4lbs don't add Trunk floor cover: 3.6lbs Rear floor mats(factory ZL1): 3.4lbs Passenger side ZL1 Recaro Seat 56lbs Back speakers/seat belts/trunk interior/15 lbs Note i didnt weigh all the big light interior covers which feel like 2-4lbs a piece. I’m going to estimate another 10lbs total forall the pieces combined i didnt weigh. Total weight reduction = 136lbs My Cars current weight with me in it and 3/8 tank of E85 is 3904lbs The pictures below are the before and after of me holding the passenger seat on the scale. It’s actually a lot lighter than i thought it would be. |

/ATTACH]You just have to pull the back up and then pull straight up in the front. The front needs some force to pull the clips out. The clips are in there good.

They are in the middle of each seat position about 3-4 inches back from the leading edge of the seat. I used a large flat screwdriver to "pop" them up but would recommend a short pry bar instead. Probe until you find the U and pry upward. It will take a considerable amount of force to pop them loose. Good news is you shouldn't break anything on the seat if you don't go gorilla on it, if anything you could break one of the plastic clips but, those can be replaced. You can see the white plastic insert the U bracket goes into in this photo, it's just behind wear the carpet ends (there's a cutout for it). |

If you take the passenger seat out with the airbag and Seat belt you will get a check engine light. However if you leave the airbag and seat belt plugged into the wiring harness i believe you will not. I got a check engine light after driving a few miles with those items removed from the car today. So i put the seat, airbag, seat belt back and plugged it all back into the wire harness and the code went away.
