On my first Camaro I had the S Type catback. On my new one I have the Atak catback. IMO the S Type has a deeper sound. If I had to choose between the 2 I would take the S Type.

This vendor (I ended up buying from another vendor with a great sale) stated the perfect reason why I went with the S-type (axel back).

In the event you get the mod bug for headers/cats - you will also want the S-type.

The link you provided said "...the ATAK which is the most aggressive sounding of them all."

and a previous guy said the S Type is a deeper sound.

Get a Range unit. You'll be glad you did!

Pace, I'm thinking of getting the Borla Axle S Type back on my new 2014 SS, but can't get a decent video clip of it. You think We can meet up some time so I can hear you're set up in person? I'm in Bayshore. PM me if you can. Thanks.

Depends. I'm most likely going S - Type because of the cam, but if I just had the manifolds or headers I'd go with the ATAK.

Has anyone just replaced the stock mufflers with the S Type mufflers instead of buying the axle back?
