1000 HP Help!

I'm new to the forum, but not to speed. My signature has my current car but I need more. I want to break 1000 hp in a true street car. I also want to put my original motor on the stand and save it.

Looking for advice. I know I'll need a fuel pump and bigger injectors. I would like to re-use my cam and cylinder heads.

I'm thinking about maybe buying a LSX 454 short block. Any suggestions? Is this a bolt in deal using my parts and headers?

Will my supercharger handle this? Will I need a bigger throttle body? Are there any recommendations on where to buy the short block?

You will for sure need a bigger blower, squash pump, and bigger injectors.

IMO 454 is not optimum for the boost required to hit 1000. Stick with an LSX at 427 or smaller. thicker cylinder walls are one reason.

Your Maggie is woefully undersized for 1000whp and bigger cubes.

Fuel system you need at least Squash return style setup with ID1000s or preferable a bit bigger.

Go twin turbo or slap a YSI or even better an F1x

It takes a BUNCH of cash to make a 1000+ whp reliable street car. Good Luck.

Look at the sticky here in the FI forum about motors/builds for the guys running the big HP setups. It will help

I see you are in Holden MO. I am near Liberty MO. PM me with your number and I'll give you a call. I've been over 1000hp with 2 slightly different combos and getting ready for a third.

Talk to Blake. I'm sure he could steer you in the right direction.

Forged 376 or bigger, but I wouldn't do a 454 and some twins will be the easiest/cheapest way to get there.

Do a forged stroked motor 416-427ci and keep the compression around 10:1 or higher. LSX block for safety to make it last a long time even if an accident happens here and there.
Then a pair of 56mm turbos and have fun.

I'm saying use the RHS or ERL aluminum block instead of the LSX and make sure you get the 6 bolt head. I did it with a blower and nitrous but those turbos sure look tempting......

I'd go with twin turbos.

If you drive the car on the street and rarely run above 140 -150 mph your TVS can be a heck of a fighter on the street.I routinely out run 1000hp turbo cars and centris with my 800hp 454 Maggie car.The others make impressive dyno numbers and can be a lot of fun but you can build a great street car with what your thinking. If we can help you out in any way give us a call.

By 130mph (top of 4th) I've pulled a couple bus lengths on built Maggie cars with a stock L99 TT. But none of them with a 650hp n/a motor under the blower.
