Actually no. These are very expensive prototypes that had plans for the continued development of the chassis and powertrain at a minimum. These have uses well beyond the start of production and are critical to the continued refinement of the car. Each has a value of a major exotic.

Put a amateur driver in a V6 Camaro and tell them to follow a Z/28 track beast...

Sure GM...that's a smart move. lol

I 50% agree.....

Unless he had extensive track experience he would not know the limits vs the pace car he's following.

The same could be said about the Z/28 driver....he should have known better as well.

Not really. He clipped the side of the vehicle. The airbag is only supposed to deploy in the event of a direct collision that puts the passengers at risk. (Assuming that the airbags are fully installed on the mules.)

What a dumbass. If you are not a professional driver, you don't need to push the car and be yapping on the first time driving it. One thing though, GM should have done it in an open road like an airport runway type to avoid these stupidities by non professional drivers.

If he had been all "screw you GM" then I would agree but I'd cut him some slack since crap happens. I race a fair amount and I've almost stuffed my Z into a ditch or two when it got away from me. Sh!t happens and unless you've never made a mistake it's hard to beat this guy up too much. JMHO...
Thank you. You saved me the trouble. As a friend of mine ( now gone) rear truck bumper read " Shit Happens" . If you do not understand that just wait awhile. You will.
