Half of my passenger LED DRL is not working
This is a 2019 RS package camaro.
On my passenger headlamp, the left side of the LED underline does not come on. The right side of the LED underline still works though. I've read this could be the computer module for the LED, but the fact that half of the underline is working makes me wonder if the LED strip is the problem. Anyone else have this problem? The new headlamp is $1900... not looking to take that gamble if they just bug out after a few years. edit: Update on post 4 Last edited by Living_Quiet; 10-05-2023 at 09:45 PM. |

Probably not what you want to hear but on my camaro, the driver side had the same thing happen. Just half of the DRL went out. The dealership had to replace the whole assembly (luckily, warranty saved me there). I tried researching to see if it's a common thing and couldn't really find anything though so

This is an every brand problem. LEDs are circuits with a life span, and a LOT of OEMs didn't build them well enough. My Mazda had a government forced recall over it because it's a safety feature that was supposed to last a "lifetime," which seems to mean 10 years or so.
My Honda had a voluntary recall. My Mazda light was originally version A, the replacement was revision J or K or something. If enough fail and are reported to NHTSA, they will investigate and determine if it's widespread enough to force a recall.

Well, now the whole LED bar on the passenger side has gone out, and the "low light" is starting to flicker. The regular headlight in unaffected so far and the brights still work for now.
Does this seem like it is the chip? No chance it's a fuse or faulty wiring? |

It sounds like your assembly is completely dying. It's just unfortunate they're so expensive to replace
