2015 COPO lottery pick

I just was notified that I am one of the 69 people who was picked to purchase a 2015 COPO. My dilemma is I don't have 90K to drop on a race car. My understanding is its non transferable as well according to the email I got. I know its a crap shot but is there anyone else out there that has been in this situation?

That's insane! Find the money. Some options for your consideration:

Cash out your retirement, sell the house, sell your least favorite child, sell a kidney or two, or sell your soul

Sorry if this gets me banned, but you're an asshole that can't afford a car, and signed up to be chosen to BUY the car you can't afford, stripping the chances from someone else.

Next time don't be an asshole.

A numbers matching LS6 M22 70 Chevelle should easily sell for over $90,000.

How do you know his circumstances haven't changed from then to now? Keep your opinion to yourself.

Ha, very true. Should be enough left over to get a couple of extra engines. No need to sell your kidneys.

You also have that Z06... How many other toys do you have? Seems like you could come up with $90K pretty easy if you really wanted to.

It's so simple. Just win the lottery and then go buy the COPO.

If you are thinking about flipping it for money it's not going to happen.

Buy it if your going race it or park it in a collection. There are a few out there for sale of each year. Just tell them you can't buy it and the next person in line will get the opportunity to buy.

Sounds like they need to improve their lottery screening. Which they should have been done from COPO #1.

Too many just wind up getting flipped, or not even the car is sold, the rights to purchase get sold.

Should be like a Barrett Jackson auction. Funds deposited up front in a credit account. That way there are screened bidders. NHRA/IHRA competion license. Extensive competition history.

I'd bet there will still be tons eligible, and the cars end up in actual racer's hands.

Ass Monkey garage proved out the current sales approach is screwy.
