Keep in mind that 1100 status is nothing, Chevrolet doesn't even have your order! More and more dealers are getting allocations for cars they don't yet have buyers for! If these go unused they loose them, so they are starting to order cars for the dealership. These cars will be delivered in the next couple of months and beyond, but will not sit for long on the lot.

Good luck!

I spoke to the owner of my dealer and he has confirmed that he has an allocation that is ready for production but that there is a constraint on the carbon fiber roof that I ordered.

I asked him if I deleted the CF roof and went stock if the car would move toward production. He said yes. I originally ordered the C7 without the CF roof. I changed my order 3 weeks ago to include the roof. So deleting th CF roof is not a big deal to me.

So hopefully it gets built in 3 weeks!

Just curious which dealer did you place the order with?

If what he said is true and you change to a standard top, you should go to 2000 by the next day meaning it has been accepted by GM and then soon to 3000 and you're good, If I was you I would want to see the workbench at the dealer computer showing that it was advance to at lease 2000, my concern is even if you have the visible carbon fiber ordered you should still be at 2000 you just wont advance to 3000 until the constraint is available. Hope this makes sense to you. Good luck

I think if you get all the way to 3400 in three weeks you are lucky then about three weeks later 3800, then shipping, add a week+. That's more realistic.

I dropped the Carbon Fiber Dash to keep my order moving!

Agree on the time frame, I have the visible carbon top and the carbon fiber dash and I just went to 3300 yesterday. FYI there is no constraint on the dash anymore.

for every allocation your dealer gets he can order 1 stingray, GM will tell them when they get each earned allocation they could be weeks apart or months. Once your order is placed against an allocation your production will proceeds like anyone else.

Bad news is if you are still at 1100 since July your dealer has no allocation for your order. Said to say all that 1100 means is that he deal put you in the computer but the order has not been accepted by GM again due to no allocation.

So if my order shows Preliminary Order Detail - Order # RFXHQM, does that mean there's a good chance my dealer didn't have an allocation set up already? Is he seeking one now or how does it work?

Don't quote me on this but the status code should be the same, it's simple if you don't advance past 1100 your dealer doesn't have any available allocations he should already know how many they earned for the this year of production, here are the codes. Hope this helps.

1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted by Chevrolet
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with GM Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited by Chevrolet
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged"), Sent to Production
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to Sequence (now becomes more stable)
3300 Order Selected and Scheduled for Production by Assembly Plant (Target Production Week usually available now)
3400 Order Broadcasted for Production (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed ("B", not 8)

again don't quote me on this, I believe there is a way for dealers to get an allocation from another dealer that doesn't use it however that would be very rare.

Canada is a different world as far as Chevrolet order processing goes.

Will not quote you but will say there is a way. A dealer declines to use an allocarion, that allocarion will be assigned to another dealer. The first dealer loses the allocarion and in future years the second dealer keeps it.

Who here sees any dealer giving up an allocation of a potential popular product in favor of another dealer? I thought so.

Allocation is product. No product means nothing to sell.

Also, dealers who take difficult to move product are given priority for easier to move product.

Now, there being no other questions, each reader of this post is ready to be a dealer.

here's the thing, apparently my order number can't be searched because it's Canadian is that correct? I'm in no man's land. Would it appear he has no allocation and lied to me? Or am I being crazy

Being from Canada is no doubt an issue for at lease me to answer, I can say that the dealers here in the US can't see your order there for can't check it, I would recommend calling GM Customer Assistance, they have been helpful for me, they should at least be able to tell you if you in fact have an order with them
