There's a Buick Regal GS out in my Driveway now, that's the supercharged version of the 3.8 V6, and it's a ton of fun to drive. it's only 240hp, up from 200 in the normal Regals, but my 1999 standards i'd say that it has a fair size engine.
A 4 door family sedan that can haul ass? i'd buy it.
My parents used to have a 2000 Buick GS, that thing was awesome fun!

Like I said, loyalty is a concept lost to most Americans these days.

I think the SHO is a great looking car and should have some go-go too. That's why Chevy needs its own version.

Oh wait, now I remember. For some people, no matter how good it looks, how well it performs, how much it costs or what kind of quality it delivers, they would still not purchase one simply because it has a blue oval on it and not a bowtie.:(
On the other hand, if there was no market for such a car then Ford wouldn't be building it. Since there is a market, GM would want a piece. The most logical choice would have been an improved G6 GXP ... but since that won't happen, a sportier Malibu is the next best option for GM if they want to do it.

I've always wondered why they haven't made a Malibu SS

And my regal was by far my favorite car and i'd buy another high performance old peoples car any day.

Decent idea, but as long as GM stands for Government Motors it will never happen. The next few years will be British Leyland redux.
