Wow, didnt see that. I see sales dropped off in 2008. Think that was because of the Camaro. As long as there is a good looking powerful 4 seater 2 door coupe from Chevy, I don't see them breaking into the 30's again. Then again, If this model is all its hyped up to be, and has a reasonable price tag... Lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Im on both sides.

i'm guessing more like 15-20,000
with the economy the way it is , plus the popularity of the Camaro, mustang and Challenger i don't see 30,000 likely.

notice when the volume dropped, just when the Camaro came out in 2010, bet 30K will be sold for a few of the first 3 or 4 years.

This isn't a 30k car though.

I just can't really see the Camaro and Corvette really being cross-shopped by a majority. Like you said, the ZL1 and C7 are completely different beasts. I think first year will be less than 20,000 at most, depending on how many get held in QC and production rates.

I wouldn't exactly call the Challenger "popular".

Before the release of the Camaro. I'm sure plenty of guys who were looking to buy a vette were swayed by the extra seats the Camaro offers.

I see the ZL1 filling that gap though; not the standard ss.

ZL1 > 1LE > SS

I now estimate at least 20K sold for the first year.
