Windshield Crack from Roof

Hello all. I am new to this forum. I have a 3 month old 2016 Corvetter Z51 Coupe. The other day my wife and I removed the roof to enjoy a beautiful sunny day in Toronto. No problem. About an hour later there were 2 linear cracks in my windshield right where the roof clamps are! These are in the exact position where the room hinges onto the car.
Has anyone ever heard of such a problem? There was absolutely no trauma to the windshield when we removed the roof. Chevy is trying to say it was somehow my fault.... I am fighting this of course and am looking for any help. Thanks!

Well, just an update to the group. I was able to convince GM that the cause was likely a stress crack (which I have now read has been happening with some C7's) and they have replaced the windshield under warranty.
