Saying Goodbye to my Camaro

I was recently transferred at work to a location that requires a 94 mile round trip everyday. I initially decided to keep the car and deal with the drive. My first month in position and I spent 320 dollars in fuel which just about ate up my raise. In order to keep my car I decided to move closer to work.
The houses in this area are much more expensive (and nicer) than what I currently have and the price of selling my house and buying a new one has forced a common sense decision. In order to break even on the budget, gotta trade her in and get something cheaper.
I am very lucky in that I owe the KB dealer trade in on my car and I have 4k in extra warranties that I cashed out.
I am saying goodbye on Tuesday with about 2k in positive equity thanks to the really good resale value of this car. I really enjoyed it and dont want to part, but the house is worth it and breaking even is better than most could hope for in this situation.
I have said goodbye to my mother this past year and now my car but good things are ahead.
Goodtimes with the Camaro! After Tuesday I will own my first non-V8 since 1998. Gonna be an adjustment!

Location, location, location. Much better to spend your money on living in a better area and closer to work than to live in a cheap area and have more or better toys.

You'll be back. Just a hiatus. The Camaros will wait for you again.

I would have bought a beater but yea okay you're way works too I guess lol
2 years ago I got myself a 99 malibu for about a 1000 bucks and it's still running strong. I save on gas, get to store my camaro in the winter and don't ever have to worry about someone dinging my car cus it's a beater. I couldn't be happier, I will always have a cheap beater on the side.

I have a 14 mile commute each way and spend about $200 in gas/month, I can't imagine trying to pull off a 94 mile trip every day, although if you're comfortable with that distance, Mexico has some dirt cheap houses. Sorry for your loss but you'll get back into one before you know it.
