Better but wider tire

It's about time for me retire the stock P-zeros and I swapped to the zl1 style rims. They are 9 front 10 back, just an inch wider, and I was wondering, what's a better tire to install on my car that will still grip, but not wear out in 13k miles? And I don't want an all season tire, but it will still be driven in the winter.
