Hood needs extra ventilation since the engine makes over 5,000 HP. Looking at getting one, checking for clearance though.

Did some reading and the belt guards are mainly for large cog belts. Since I'm using a rib to cog setup, the ribs will slip before the cog belt snaps.
Weather is going to be crap but on Sunday or Monday I can start street testing. I have to find out what duty cycle my fuel pump is running so I can increase it. I should be at 18 PSI, the new aggressive impeller adds a few PSI but the longer duration cams took it away. |

Found out why the belt was jumping like that, the crank pulley wasn't centered. I have to upgrade to 3/8th bolts from 5/16. That will center it and also make it stronger.
The pulley combo spins the supercharger so fast that both BOV's activate at 1200 RPM and it is loud. Going to piss a lot of drivers off. |

Drove the Camaro for 40 miles today from work and back, that regular gates belt stretched out. By 1 mile it sounded like I was running over a pig with a lawnmower, it was squealing so loud. Only time you couldn't hear it was when I got on the throttle, then it sounded like all the air within 5 miles was being sucked up. Right now I'm making the same boost I was with the 2.95" pulley, just no slip yet. I haven't taken it up to 7500 though since the fueling has to be dialed in, too little and the pistons will burn up fast. I have a gates green belt coming in tomorrow, and I'm going to put the manual tensioner pulley on the hole closer to the adjusters, that should help it with the flex.
The boost reacts very fast with this new setup, as soon as you barely hit the throttle it throws you back in the seat. |

thats kind of a bummer about the belt.. im just getting my fuel dialed in at the moment but the cars running amazing.. having an independent belt for the blower is the way to go.. INSTANT BOOST !!!! take some videos wanna see it action

Right now my supercharger is very loud, when I put the head unit back together I didn't get the gears meshed like they do at Vortech so it makes gear noise like a rear end out on a car. |

Got the green belt on and adjusted the plate. The supercharger belt wasn't making the noise though, it was the main belt since the spring tensioner was hitting the plate, I had to shave a 1/4" off of the plate so the tensioner can get full swing. If it wasn't such a pain to do the M12 taps I would buy a second plate, shave 1" off of the bottom and redo the manual tensioner bolts so it would clear easily.
I should find out what my max boost is at 7500 this week, that will be spinning the impeller 56k RPM. |

Took it up to 7000 RPM and made a grand total of 3 PSI. Ready to run 8's in the quarter mile now. At 40,000 RPM impeller speed the belt was slipping, the cog belt wasn't since when it slips it will rip the teeth off the belt.
Will tighten and test tomorrow, I'm at 60k miles so I need to change the oil. The oil only has 1500 miles on it but those were with the new camshafts. |

Found a spring tensioner that isn't very expensive and should fit. To get the manual tensioner to the position I need would put a lot of pressure on the crank which I really don't want to break.
