2018 Zl1 gets New Left Front Shock and nuts for sway bar
My ZL1 at only 763 miles required a new left front shock and the nuts replaced on the front sway bar. It was manufactured in June. Glad to have the clunking noise fixed but disappointed with an issue so soon. Dealer said it is not uncommon. Love the car though!

When I swapped my brake pads to Power Stop this past weekend, since I had the wheels off up front already, I checked the sway bar nuts and mine were still tight. I didn't have any noise, just checking for my own peace of mind. Mine is a 2017 ZL1 Vert with about 1000 miles so far, so I either consider myself lucky or maybe one day they will loosen up, don't know. So far so good. Now the sways are slightly smaller on a Vert vs a Coupe to help "soften" the ride, so don't know if that has anything to do with it or not...
Your shock was a fluke or something, not common that I've heard about. |

the crazy thing is that the nuts only have to be slightly loose to get the clunking. The one that has loosened on mine is the driver's side lower nut which is a bitch to access. You have to hold the center stud with a 6mm allen wrench and use an 18mm wrench to tighten it. Good luck on using a torque wrench there...seems impossible.
